31’ 2004 Custom Trunk Cabin Launch “Dragonfly”
This sturdy and capable trunk cabin launch is a custom Van Dam design, originally built for day cruising on the open waters of the Straits of Mackinac on Lake Michigan, with occasional coastal passages throughout the northern Great Lakes also envisioned. She is powered by a 270-hp, "V-drive" Yanmar, turbo diesel engine, with less than 350 hours on it. Providing reliable and efficient performance.
The accommodations are light and airy, featuring a galley, V-berth, head, slide-out table, and comfortable seating—perfect for relaxing with a book and a warm drink on a foggy day. The boat was originally equipped with a permanent mahogany-framed canvas sun top that could be extended aft to fully enclose the cockpit for camping or protection in inclement weather.
The hull and deck are finished with Awlgrip for ease of maintenance, accented by just enough bright-finished mahogany to highlight her wooden construction and classic craftsmanship.
“Dragonfly” has received significant upgrades, including a new hard top, bow thruster, a converter for 110-volt power, fresh paint, electric refrigeration, new stereo and microwave, and custom mahogany cockpit grates, among other enhancements. The vessel has been meticulously maintained and is in excellent condition. Includes a Phoenix custom tri-axle trailer and full waterline cover.
